Sweet Home Alabama: Love Songs

Sweet Home Alabama was two hours long on Friday night, and it needed to be – what a lot of drama! I’ve already heard from a bunch of readers who had a lot to say about Jeremiah, but I think we’d better start at the beginning.

The show picked up where we’d left off last week, with Jeremy and Landon arguing over what happened during the elimination. Most of the guys, including the country guys, weren’t very happy with Landon. Bubba had the most reasonable opinion on everything, saying that he respected Landon wanting to protect Paige but there were clearly some ulterior motives there.

I don’t think Paige was wrong in sending Jeremy home. She clearly has some trust issues surrounding people and their exes, and so she doesn’t want a guy around who’s going to be bragging about another girl or could possibly still have feelings for someone else. But I do think the only reason Landon told Paige about what Jeremy had said was because he could sense she was about to send him packing. It was to save his own butt, and that’s a pretty rotten move.

Getting Corny

The first date of the week went to Donny, the singer/songwriter from Nashville who was married not so very long ago. He was married to Whitney of Survivor fame, who left him for Keith. From what we’ve seen on Sweet Home Alabama, I’d say Whitney traded down. Keith seemed like a dolt on Survivor (and he was mean to the nerd, Cochran) but Donny seems like a really nice guy.

Paige and Donny went to a bar and made kettle corn together, and then he sang a song he’d written about her. I don’t know why I was surprised it was good. I mean, this is what the guy does for a living. But so does Dustin and, well, yeah…let’s just say I prefer Donny.

The song definitely meant a lot to Paige – she had tears in her eyes – but since she didn’t really kiss him afterwards, I wasn’t sure if she was feeling a big connection. This was Donny’s first date so he had a long way to go to catch up with some of the other guys who’ve had more time with Paige, and I wasn’t sure the song would be enough.

Animal Lovers

The next date went to Jeremiah, who’s the first guy to get a second date. First they spent the morning at a vet clinic, because Paige wanted to show him part of what she does for a living. It was really sweet, especially since on their first date Jeremiah showed Paige some of what he does, and you could tell they really bonded over their mutual love of animals.

Afterwards they went back to Dorgan’s Inn where Paige stays, and hung out drinking lemonade and lying in the hammock. I knew Paige was really smitten with Jeremiah, but I don’t think I realized how much – she told him she’s falling in love with him, and Jeremiah didn’t say anything back. It was so awkward, and we didn’t get to see them together much after that.

On her Twitter account, Paige said that she’d asked Jeremiah a lot of really intense questions while they were in the hammock. He was obviously rattled, and it’s hard to tell if that’s just because he’s nervous or what. If he weren’t on a show, would he still be acting like this? Would he be more comfortable falling in love with Paige if they had just met through friends or something, or would he be freaking out just as much?

When Jeremiah returned from his date he was in a bad mood. It was hard to tell why. Was he frustrated that he didn’t say more to Paige? Is it because he really likes her and hates seeing all the other guys still getting dates with her? Is it because things are moving too fast for him?

Work It Out

The next day, all the guys were scheduled to meet up with Paige at the gym and Jeremiah decided not to go. That’s when he started to annoy me. I get that this is a hard situation, and I think Jeremiah is really out of his comfort zone. But if you like Paige, you should suck it up and spend whatever time you can with her. Not going on the group outing was a sulky, babyish thing to do.

**Ed. Note: Jeremiah tweeted that he didn’t know Paige was going to be at the gym, and that it was a “bad time to just wanna take a nap.” So I take back my comments about it being sulky!

I never thought I’d say Big Shaun was growing on me, but he cracked me up the entire time the guys were at the gym. He just hung out, bouncing on an exercise ball and telling jokes. I much prefer him to Landon, who bench pressed Paige. Landon actually said “You’re my new dumbbell” to Paige. Oh gee, Mister, words every gal dreams of hearing! Barf. Maybe I’m weird, but I’m not impressed by that kind of thing.

While at the gym, Paige arranged to go on a “triangle date” with Dustin and Joey. The idea came from a joke Dustin made, but even a shared date with Paige is better than no date at all.

Back at the house that night, things got pretty bad with Jeremiah. A few people have commented on last week’s blog post to say that they think producers and editors made Jeremiah look bad. I have to disagree – that was his behavior, and while editing does play some role in how people on the show are portrayed it doesn’t change what Jeremiah did or said. I think Jeremiah knew he got out of control, lost his temper, and was embarrassed by his behavior. Apparently he’d had three glasses of whiskey, and that obviously was a factor.

The gist of it is that Jeremiah had a few drinks and stayed up late, mouthing off to a bunch of the guys and also letting them get under his skin. In particular, he was bickering a lot with Little Cowboy Shaun. Next thing you knew, Jeremiah was across the kitchen trying to hit Shaun and the other guys had to pull them apart.

Now, obviously I don’t know Jeremiah and my opinions on this are just a girl who likes TV and writes a blog. So take it all with a grain of salt. (AKA, please don’t send me hate mail!) I think Jeremiah is a good guy. I don’t think he’s a jerk. But I do think he was acting like one that night.

Jeremiah seems to be a pretty big introvert. And I get that, because I’m kind of an introvert too. I love being around people and I’m really social, but I NEED down time, I need alone time, I need to just chill and recharge or I get cranky. If you’re an introvert, I think it would be really hard to live in a house with a bunch of guys. Guys who are also dating the girl you’re currently really worked up about. Guys who are also having drinks and are trying to get under your skin a little, because that’s what guys do. I think Jeremiah’s probably not really cut out for a show like this, and so the whole situation is really difficult on him. But there’s nothing he can do about it. He can’t leave, not if he really likes Paige. So he just needs to suck it up and deal with it as best he can. But that night, he clearly lost it.

Thin Ice, Baby

For the “triangle date”, Paige took Dustin and Joey skating. They each got to spend time alone with her, and the two dates couldn’t have been more different. Dustin seems like a total sweetheart – just a really nice, genuine guy. But he and Paige were definitely in the friend zone. And Joey, that seems like a total physical connection. First of all, Joey on the ice was hilarious. I don’t think his skates were tied up right, and he kept sliding around and falling like Bambi. How had he never skated before? He’s from New Jersey! First he didn’t know how to ride a bike, and now he’d never been on skates before? Where did this guy’s childhood go?

One of the funniest parts of the whole episode was Bubba teaching Big Shaun how to rope a pretend bull. Has hell frozen over? Last week I was sure I didn’t buy Shaun’s whole changed attitude, but this week it actually seemed like it might be legit. Even Jeremiah took part in the roping lesson and cracked a few smiles, so I suppose his mood had improved.

I was sure Jeremiah would try to talk to Paige before the elimination so he could apologize for not going to the gym, but we didn’t see the two of them talk at all. I still really like Jeremiah, so I hope this week was just a roadblock for them and not a game changer.

Boyd pulled Big Shaun aside first, and even though he acted as intimidating as possible, he was delivering the news that Paige wants a date with him. Good thing Boyd isn’t in charge of these decisions, or I think Big Shaun would have been sent back to New York long ago. I’m interested to see how this date goes.

First Paige sent Dustin home, which wasn’t much of a surprise since their date gave off a clear friend vibe. But I wasn’t sure who the other guy would be. I thought it might be Landon since Paige was so close to eliminating him last week, or maybe Todd, who isn’t making the greatest impression on me. Instead, she sent Donny home. I guess writing a girl a song doesn’t work that well after all. Donny cried. A lot. Maybe he was still upset about his divorce? It seemed like he had a lot of emotions happening.

OK, that’s it for this week, folks! What did y’all think of the mega-sized episode? I know you have opinions (especially on Jeremiah!) so get down to the comments section and share them!

I agree that the producers can only work with the material they have, and that Jeremiah wasn't at his best after his date with Paige. But I also think the producers manipulated things to make him seem like a complete jerk, which obviously he isn't. I think he really, really likes Paige and isn't OK with sharing her with a bunch of other guys. And yes, he did sign up for a dating show but, really, who expects to actually fall in love on one?I personally thought Jeremiah in all his torment was kind of adorable. You could just tell he was a wreck about not completely expressing himself. And I laughed out loud when the guys asked how his date went and he said, "She wanted to talk about feelings and stuff." I haven't met a guy yet who isn't uncomfortable talking about feelings, never mind with a camera crew in their face and the whole country watching! Also, ALL the guys had been drinking that night and according to a comment Jeremiah made on his FB page, when the fight with with Cowboy Shaun broke out everyone was yelling at each other. But the producers made it seem like Jeremiah was the only one acting badly. That doesn't excuse it, but I don't think we saw a lot of what was going on. Speaking of not knowing what's going on, why do the producers refuse to let people know that Jeremiah is a musician as well as a farmer? They just aren't portraying him fairly. If you ask me, the episode was as close to reality as "reality" TV gets. Falling in love is usually complicated and has a lot of emotions involved – confusion, uncertainty, jealousy. Jeremiah's actions are kind of what I'd expect from a guy who is truly falling in love with a girl but is competing for her with 8 other guys AND living with them 24/7.City Shaun's turnaround was easy, because he was mostly acting the part of a hillbilly-hating ass. I don't think Jeremiah is acting. He's being true to who he is and is getting complete crap for it from the other guys even though, with the exception of his scuffle with Cowboy Shaun, he's been the one to step up for everyone else. Has everyone already forgotten him putting his arms around Cowboy Shaun and comforting him after he found out about his horse? Or telling Joey it wasn't cool to talk smack about Andy?It absolutely infuriates me that "fans" are so rude and hateful. Check out the SHA Facebook page and you'll see that many of them have now pegged Jeremiah as an alcoholic abuser with "deep seated problems". So now if Jeremiah actually is the one Paige chose, fans will be outraged, ruder than ever, and her fairytale is marred. That's not right. And finally…. Jeremiah may not have tried (or at least we didn't see it) to talk to Paige at eliminations, but she after she sends Donny home the guys are milling around on the porch talking to him, and Jeremiah is standing at the window just looking in at Paige. If it were a movie we'd all be saying AAHHH and totally rooting for him. Which I totally am!Whew! Guess I needed to vent!

Ok, I will preface by saying that I do NOT know Jeremiah. That being said, I thought what the producers did with his edit this episode was shameful. No, the producers don't FORCE them to say or do stuff, and by no means am I excusing his behavior that night. But it was clear, Jeremiah had a very bad day, which happened to be aired on national television. We all have bad days, but the difference is, not millions of viewers witness this. The producers could have shown anything, but they chose to focus on all the negative. I'm sure Jeremiah has said and done several nice things in the house, yet, they don't show that. The fact that city and country boys have come out (on social media) to defend Jeremiah speaks a lot of about Jeremiah's character… in my opinion of course. Jeremiah made a statement regarding the episode on facebook or twitter. He didn't make any excuse of what happened – but he felt manipulated. First off, all the guys were getting on each others' nerves. They were all arguing – not just him. There were also other fights that were not shown that night and other nights as well. If this is not a bad edit…then I don't know what is. They could have shown other guys in a bad light, but they clearly had a "target" in mind to fit their "story".What the editors did was very irresponsible. It's one thing to make a guy look bad, but it was so bad it made the viewers question Jeremiah's character. If you read the face book wall for CMT, some of the things said about Jeremiah are awful. People on the web are saying the guy is an alcoholic, creepy, potential serial killer, would probably beat Paige if she ended up with him, and etc. So, yes, editing does play a huge role on how you are portrayed on the screen. An easy example is how all of a sudden everyone loves city Shaun. It's like he did a total 180.. when really he's the same guy. I didn't mind him from the beginning, it was clear to me, yes he said really disrespectful stuff, but you have to keep in mind this is a reality show… they all have "characters" to fill out. I’m sure if they wanted to, they could portray fan favorites Bubba (love the guys!) and country Shaun in a negative light. Finally… I will say what the producers are doing is a disservice to Paige and Jeremiah. Let's be honest… there is no doubt in my mind she chooses Jeremiah now. This is not a spoiler, just pure speculation. She has mentioned numerous times in interviews that she knew very early on who her final guy would be, she just wasn't sure if that guy felt the same way as she did. Hmm… let's see… who fits into that category? I would feel really betrayed if I were Paige and Jeremiah. Instead of watching their love story unfold by airing the positives in their courtship, they chose to focus on the negative. I doubt their date even went as bad as they want the viewers to think it did. I'm guessing Paige did not cave into the producers demands and choose the guy they want her to pick. Yes, if you know anything about the behind the scenes of reality tv… you would think twice about applying for a show. Shows like these, the producers want the lead to pick the fan favorite since they want high ratings. SHA is also featured on CMT. With their audiences predominately from the South, there's no doubt the producers would want Paige to choose someone, well, from the south. By choosing Jeremiah, this messed up the producers’ plans. And this edit you see, is one heck of a payback. These are just my opinions of course and I expect to catch some heat.I hope what I say doesn't sway anyone from watching reality tv, because even though I think a lot of the stuff we see on our screen is manipulated, I still thoroughly enjoy my shows and will continue to watch it. Sorry for the long rant. This is just my 0.02 (more like $0.5 haha). If you actually read everything, I'm amazed.

I think I have spent my entire weekend trying to defend Jeremiah by showing him some love and respect over there. I don't know why they have edited him so badly. The extended trailer for the season shows where Dustin had to pull little Shaun off of Danny Bopp or somebody in the kitchen after he went for his throat. There's a scene on the porch with Jeremy watching as and another guy was going for Andy. Bubba started a fight in the bedroom with city Shaun tormenting him about his eyebrows .. followed by Landon screaming in his face that the house was his and yada yada yada. We didn't see a lot of the fights on the show as they were edited out. But with Jeremiah, the cameras love to avoid him when he's smiling that beautiful smile, but they capture every grimace ..and of course the camera never left him during his fight with Little Shaun. As for Jeremiah and Paige .. There's no doubt in my mind he is crazy over her, and doesn't know how to deal with his feelings. He has nobody to confide in because he keeps his affairs with her so private and for that I respect him so much. I like to believe they will end up together. The way they look at each other is so captivating. Those two shine together. My hope is Jeremiah works through this funk he's in , and opens up just a little … I don't want her to give up on him. I love them together.

Dear CMT,We are tired of your manipulation and lies. Stop punishing Paige and Jeremiah for falling in love, when that is supposed to be the premise of this show. Start showing dignity and respect towards both of them and allow us to see all aspects of who they are. Promote the song written for Paige by the man she is in love with, instead of the songs written by men she is not. You can continue to edit the show like you have the last two seasons with lies, or you can start telling the truth. You preach Southern values on the show. Put your money where you mouth is and walk the walk instead of just talking the talk. Please respect your audience, who bring you the ratings you need, by telling and showing us the whole truth about Paige and Jeremiah. Your integrity is at stake.Sincerely,Honesty is a virtue

I read every word! Ha Ha.I also believe that it's payback for Paige not picking the producers' fave. And it breaks my heart for Paige and Jeremiah. His character has been tarnished, they're being robbed of their fairytale, and viewers are missing out on a really good love story. Although… I've come to realize after following the Facebook action that most viewers couldn't care less who Paige might actually be falling in love with. It's all about their pick. That any viewer EVER thought Landon was a good match for her is beyond me.I also am certain that Jeremiah is who Paige picks. You can just see it in both their faces. And I so hope that the producers' irresponsibility isn't the end of their love story. How awful would that be?Anyway, if they don't do some re-editing that gives Jeremiah the respect he deserves and that highlights their romance, I absolutely won't be watching next season.

  6. Anonymous says:

I'm not a producer or film editor and don't play either one on tv… but I have to say something in their defense (not excuses). This is the first time Paige has said "love" – and face it, there are still 4 episodes to go and, from what I've read, they will all be 2 hours long. Possibly in a misguided way, they may have thought that showing Jeremiah in a truly negative light would stem a lot of premature "She chose Jeremiah" talk. On the other side of the coin, in my opinion, the picture they ended up painting of Jeremiah was so bad that it spawned some of the ugliest comments I've seen anywhere. In line with what the poster above said, this could easily impact the joy we all really want to share with Paige and Jeremiah if she does choose him. As for describing Jeremiah as a "farmer," each of the guys gets a one-word descriptor and, if you follow social media, almost every single one of them is much more than whatever tag they carry on the show. Perhaps after doing Jeremiah what I see as a disservice, we will get to see/hear his musical talent and what I believe is his genuine goodness soon. One can only hope.

It's interesting that CMT hasn't posted Friday's episode online yet. Is it possible they are trying to do some damage control?I've also wondered if CMT misjudged their audience (a nasty bunch as the above poster noted)and thought their edits would simply keep people guessing about the relationship. Instead, it led to an assault on a good man's character when viewers realized she actually MIGHT NOT PICK BUBBA.I sure hope they find a way to make this right.

  8. Anonymous says:

Destroying someone's character for the sake of ratings for a TV show is despicable. Shame on whoever edits this show. I, too, will not be watching next season, if this immoral behavior continues.

  9. Anonymous says:

I understand the editors' need to keep the audience guessing and give the audience (false) hope that Paige would choose the fan favorite. However, I thought what they did on Friday's episode crossed the line. They could have also shown the other guys getting in a fist fight, not only Jeremiah. Of course since the guy he fought was little Shaun (a fan FAVORITE!) it made the situation even worse. Why didn't they show everyone getting on each others nerves? They made it look like Jeremiah was the instigator, who has a drinking problem, and showed signs of being a wife beater. I don't mind that his descriptor only says "farmer", but they could have included in the conversations where he TELLS Paige that he is also a musician and lives in LA part time. Jeremiah has said that most of the time he was playing the guitar in the house. They obviously don't want the audience to know he's also a musician. If they did, they would have shown him playing his guitar, singing, telling the guys and Paige.I'm not sure if you've heard of his song he wrote for Paige during the show. If they don't show him playing his song for Paige… it would be a shame. And at this point, I really don't see the producers/editors letting the audience know about his music. Why start now? If anything, that would just make the audience hate Jeremiah even more, since he would be a fraud just promoting his music. People on face book are already saying how he was not honest when he had a "whole other life" living in LA and making music.

  10. Anonymous says:

Paige commented once on Facebook that they talked about him being a musician while they were on the combine date but it got edited out. Imagine that. I can't even look at Facebook anymore. Some of those people are so hateful and ridiculous…

  11. Anonymous says:

In her chat with fans after her first date with Jeremiah, someone asked Paige why they didn't mention his music. She said that they did talk about it on that date, it just didn't make it through the editing process. The whole thing is just a shame.

I have Jeremiah's album, and his song " This Paige Is You" is so awesome. I love his voice..he sings from his heart..to his girl. I have never been able to picture her with anybody else. I kind of follow them on FB and twitter. What made me giggle is Jeremiah posted a picture of his grandma and grandpa celebrating their anniversary. About a day later Paige posted a picture of her grandma…then he posted a goof ball picture of himself …and the next day Paige posted a goof ball one of her. Then she was talking about her boots …calling them freakin awesome.LOL. then she started a comment with "man oh man"…omg I think its easy to pick up expressions from our sweethearts. I'm always searching for clues ..I think there are many symbolic things that point to Jeremiah. The bandana..the big green tractor..the L word…and a little puppy who I think becomes somebody! This has been driving me crazy…searching for clues is addicting. I know there's more in my head…can't think straight …been defending Jeremiah so much.. fridays episode brought out the haters full stream. I have so much respect for Jeremiah ..he's an awesome guy. He really grabs my heart because he reminds me of my son. They have the same swag…love bandanas..guitars..and rock and roll….

PLEASE do not let this show turn into another Bachelor!!! It has been so nice seeing a love story unfold.Don't throw anyone under the bus, either.Jeremiah has tons of fans despite the way he was edited.People want to watch a show that is real.Reality TV has gotten so bad but this show could be different.Listen to the fans..it could make or break this show.Paige has been an awesome lead. She has morals and feelings.Find more leads like her!!

In the end, if they are TRULY in Love, it doesn't matter how the producers "portray" them on TV. It doesn't matter what ANYONE thinks of their actions, opinions or choices. I understand everyone's argument but at the same time we are talking about Hollywood Producers. This kind of stuff happens every day on ALL types of Reality TV shows, not just Sweet Home Alabama. Since everyone in the above comments seem know the "behind the scenes" stages, it should be NO surprise as to the manor of how this is being handled. In the end, if Paige does choose Jeremiah (which I agree, she WILL) I think they will Both be extremely grateful for the show beings without it, they may have Never met! Paige talks A LOT about being so "in Love" and we are Excited for her as she deserves nothing but happiness… again, No show (regardless of editing outcome) no TRUE LOVE for Paige! From reading Paige's chats and FB post, I don't foresee anything or anyone coming between her and her new man's happiness and love for each other. In the meantime people, take a chill pill, RELAX and enjoy the show. After all, you can't change it!

  18. Anonymous says:

Well said! I agree. No one can change or alter a true love story. Producers have a job and it consists of ratings, ratings, ratings. They don't care of the actual person's feelings or emotions. It is all about the money. Understandable! Unlike many viewers I highly doubt Paige is the least bit concerned over "editing". Why would she? She got what she wanted from them.

  19. Anonymous says:

True that if Paige and Jeremiah are in love they have the show to thank for that. Also true, though, that what has become a character assassination of Jeremiah by viewers detracts from their love story and doesn't allow them to joyfully share it with the audience – as I'm sure they'd hoped to. If I were Paige I'd want fans to love my guy and see in him all the wonderful things I see. Not to have them saying the truly awful things I've seen posted. And if I were Jeremiah I'd want fans to know I'm a great guy who deserves Paige's love.So while I'm sure they are thankful for the opportunity the show gave them, I'm certain they must be devastated by the way it's being played out.

@larissamatsson- give this pretty lady a shout out on twitter. Seems she is a big part of the editing process. And for the record I love Jeremiah James!

Bravo! Very well said!I'll add : The producers follow the story line they want us to beleive and play with the material they got. Sometimes, participants infuriates us, sometimes we love them but in the end the ones not forgotten are the ones creating turmoils.I have known for a while that she choose Jeremiah. I agree that probably all the guys got into arguments and yeld in each other's faces but to assault and throw punches is another thing, that's where Jeremiah went overboard. Violence is NEVER an answer and it should not be tolerated. In other shows, it's automatic expulsion. Every body on Jeremiah's side is bashing production for Jeremiah's edit but he did what he did, that's not their fault. Every other guy commented that he was angry. The only one he should be angry with is himself. If I were one of the guys still letf standing, I would fell kind of cheated a bit looking back. She's asking them to be open with her but at the same time, her heart was already taken (she said that she knew early). It must be hard to swallow sometimes to see that it was already a lost cause but she had to go throught with it anyway.

I DO know Jeremiah and he is a very confident, loving gentleman who will treat any woman who is fortunate to win his heart with the love of Ephesians 5:22-33.

I ran across a photo album of Paige and Jeremiah created from screen caps by the Bachelor Bachelorette spoiler group of their last date. They should create a musical slide show for youtube using them , they are perfect.

  29. Anonymous says:

Not that I condone violence (Jeremiah AND Shaun should not have fought)… but Jeremiah was not the only one in a fight (with little Shaun) during the filming of the show. There were other fist fights/punches that occurred with other contestants too. Why are they only showing Jeremiah's fight? It looks a lot worse when we only see one guy fighting… I guess they should all be eliminated then.Regarding the last part about feeling cheated. She probably would have ran off with Jeremiah if she could. Producers are always feeding Paige and the contestants bs and messing with their heads. The producers wanted her to choose the fan favorite (most likely Bubba). It wouldn't surprise me if the producers mislead Bubba or any of the other contestants in thinking that they had a chance with Paige and that the "feelings" were mutual. This will get the guys to open up to her and spew up the I love you lines (even when it's most likely Stockholm Syndrome than love) On the other side, producers pressured her to pick the fan favorite (and in their minds this was definitely NOT Jeremiah). If she has already fallen in love with Jeremiah early on, it would be very easy to mess with her head. Casting doubts in her head that Jeremiah does not return the feelings; whereas this other guy does and is a far "better" choice (for ratings). In contrary, if Jeremiah fell in love with Paige, they would make him doubt his connection with Paige… maybe even hinting that Paige has told other guys she's falling in love with them as well. Paige has mentioned that one regret she has from doing the show is constantly second guessing herself; she felt she could have enjoyed some of the moments more. They were definitely messing with her head. These are just my thoughts. I enjoy reading everyone's opinions!

  30. Anonymous says:

I'm betting that Paige would have liked nothing better than to call off the rest of the filming and just focus on Jeremiah as soon she realized he was the one. I'm also betting her contract didn't allow for that.

I dont understand how all of you know that she picked Jeremiah?? I hope not, I think he is dirty, one guy had to remind him to put on deoderant and brush his teeth! Yuck! But whatever floats her boat I guess if she picks him, I dont like a skinny guy, not for me! I think there is a reason he is 29 and single, theres something to be said how he acted and was angry when he drank, he wasnt acting and you cant edit that, its kind of dumb that others have said that he was put in a bad light, would any of you say that big Shaun and Landon were put in a bad light because of whats been shown about them???

I disagree with your take on Jeremiah not brushing his teeth and taking a bath. This was just part of making him looked bad. He could not have those beautiful, white teeth if someone had to tell him to bush them, he would have no teeth. And I think he is very handsome. So soft spoken and sweet. She chose the right one.

How in the world will they fix this and how will their next date be? Unbelievable.

  37. Anonymous says:

As soon as Jeremiah stayed home from the group gym date I knew Paige would end up picking him. He fits the profile of her past boyfriends–self-absorbed men that make it all about them and not her. If he did not realize he left her feeling confused and hurt after their date he is too self absorbed, and if he did realize and stayed back to pout he is too self absorbed. He stayed home from a group date where he could have grabbed a minute to be there for her, but instead, he stayed home "focusing on himself". There are plenty of men like him out there, but Paige needs to stop blaming the ex's in people's lives and realize she is drawn to men that make her chase them and that don't put her first. I bet Jeremiah's reaction to Friday's episode was to whine about how it made him look, instead of begging everyone's forgiveness for putting himself first.

I can't speak for others, but I think it's totally obvious she chose Jeremiah (and I do NOT read spoilers). It's clear they have the most chemistry together despite how much of their time together is edited out. I highly doubt Paige would pick a guy with hygiene issues. It was obvious to me, he was being facetious/sarcastic when he needed to be reminded to brush his teeth. About the 29 and single part. I guess there's a reason why all those guys are single. He's not even the oldest of the bunch. I wonder what's wrong with the other guys then. And finally, yes you can edit and be portrayed in a bad light. There is a lot of slicing and dicing done in the editing room. A lot of things that are said by the guys could be said totally out of context. They have A LOT of footage to work with. Just because you don't "see" other guys on screen fighting with each other, doesn't mean it never happened. And there were definitely other fights that broke out. Maybe we should question everyone's character?

I love jeremiah. I think its total crap that the camera always avoids him unless hes doing something to make the ratingz go up. Maybe my opinion doesn't count because I grew up with him and went to his church but I hope Paige sees who he really is and gives him a chance.

  40. Anonymous says:

Well, if you read the article you would know that Jeremiah and the guys did NOT know that Paige was going to be at the gym, hence making it a "group date".

  41. Anonymous says:

Thank you, thank you, thank you for pointing out what should be obvious – Paige wouldn't be attracted to someone who didn't bathe or brush their teeth. I think part of the problem may be that subtle things like facetiousness and sarcasm are lost on a good portion of the audience. After the episode aired and before things got really ugly, Country Shaun commented somewhere – Twitter, I think – that they'd cut the scene with he and Landon going at it. So yes, other guys were fighting and yes, it was edited to make Jeremiah look like the only one. Beloved Bubba is 30. Why has he never married? Good for both of them that they're waiting for the right person!

  42. Anonymous says:

If you actually know him then your opinion counts double!

  43. Anonymous says:

Jill's article says "the next day, all the guys were scheduled to meet up with Paige at the gym." Jeremiah was called out on it by the other guys when Dustin said how could you not want to go when it's a chance to see her. Jeremiah pouted and stayed home. That much is not due to editing. She'll be fine with him, as long as she knows, he comes first.

  44. Jill Mader says:

Sorry, I was mistaken – watching the episode I thought the guys knew they were meeting Paige, but on Twitter I saw that Jeremiah wrote he did not know Paige would be there, so I went back and added that to my article.

  45. Anonymous says:

Yes originally – because as the viewer we are under the assumption that it was a scheduled group date. Jill has since added to her article.I'm not saying Jeremiah made the right decision in not going. I'm just saying none of the guys knew Paige was even going to be at the gym.

  46. Anonymous says:

When the guys returned from the gym,Jeremiah was reading his bible. Maybe he needed some quiet time with The Lord.I think he is a perfect match for Paige. They are Christians and will cherish that God brought them together.

Todd? Why does that sound like something Todd would say? ha ha

  51. Anonymous says:

Jeremiah has a great sense of humor and that has been lost on tv. He was joking with the guys when he was getting ready for his 1st date… I have seen his humor and kindness and love for God, All his life. He maybe a bit shy in the public eye, however in person he is very social.

  52. Anonymous says:

I thought of the puppy when Jeremiah was talking into the camera about how they should get one. That was so cute of him … :)

She probably took the puppy home that day and they just edited that out too. lol

  55. Maisie says:

Jeremiah has anger issues and should never touch whiskey. Red flag, Paige, pay attention. Don't get this guy mad when he drinks. And please lose that stupid bandana. Only Bret Michaels looks good with one. Not trying to stir up trouble, just posting my personal opinion, to which I'm entitled.

  56. Anonymous says:

He blamed the edit, couldn't even man up and say he should ever drink again, severe anger issues with this dude. Paige will always be kissing up to him to keep him happy. They won't last.

  57. Anonymous says:

Jeremiah and Paige won't last 6 months. She'll get tired of always having to keep his temper under control and pull his emotions out of him, gets old real fast.

    • Anonymous says:

Pardon me but I did not seem a temper or any anger issues other than the fight with Little Shaun. That being said, there were lots of fights among most of them. All I saw was a sweet, soft spoken gentleman who loves God and Paige. What more could you ask for???

  58. MacKenzie says:

Bubba is the only real man on this show, who is total marriage material. The whole package, he's amazing. If Paige wants a guy who will love, protect and always put her on a pedestal, she'll pick Bubba, not bandana boy.

  59. Anonymous says:

If he shouldn't be drinking again, than neither should other guys who got into fights during the show.

  60. Anonymous says:

haha that's actually longer than both past two seasons' "relationship" combined. It doesn't matter who she chooses. The chances are whoever she ends up with will not last. It's a reality show. They met and courted in such a strange environment.

  61. Anonymous says:

Paige is with the man she loves..the one who makes her happy and giddy and excited. He's the one she has so much in common with and enjoys just being with.Besides, she thinks his bandana is sexy!!

  62. Anonymous says:

For the life of me I will never understand why some viewers would be so offended if the lead does not choose who they deem as the "perfect" fit. Just because she doesn't choose your personal pick doesn't mean there is something wrong with her or she must not want a serious relationship. Whether it be the fan favorite or whomever – the choice is not ours, and we're not going to end up dating the final guy/girl.I laugh when I read some of the comments on the SHA FB site. It's like they think they have some kind of impact on how the show will end and who she chooses to be with. FYI, filming has already wrapped since December. We don't know any of these people on our screens. I don't see how we know what's "best" for Paige.Whichever guy she ends up with, was the best choice for her. I wish the couple the best of luck and happiness. I think it's very rude in hoping or getting excited for a couple to not make it just because he's not your ideal guy. For the record my favorite guy this season is neither Bubba, little Shaun, nor Jeremiah. I think they're great guys and wouldn't be so quick to judge someone after seeing 10 minutes of "footage". All the guys (except for Landon) in the house have become close friends and have said many good things about each other (just follow their twitter interactions, you'll know what I mean).

  63. Anonymous says:

Thank you for your post. Well said.I also, will never understand why people keep telling Paige who to pick when she has already chosen the final guy two months ago. Paige went with HER heart. It is not a popularity contest open for debate! Why can't people be happy and supportive of Paige's choice? It is her life and not theirs. She is the only one that knows who God has prepared her heart for!Give the girl and the guys a break and stop being so nasty. It is not becoming of y'all! For the record, I am a Paige fan. Whoever SHE chooses at the end is the one I am supporting because he has made her so incredibly happy! I'm sure Paige would appreciate y'all doing the same!

  64. Anonymous says:

Well considering the guy doesn't brush his teeth, he has a great set of pearly whites! Honestly, these bathing and teeth brushing comments are so ridiculous!

CAN I GET AN "A M E N!"Let's just enjoy Paige's journey in finding love/happiness.Also, one thing I am enjoying is seeing the different lifestyles/cultures coming together to form one group of great guys celebrated in friendship, fun, and prayer.Jo

  69. Anonymous says:

Watch the show again. In the kitchen the guys asked him why he didn't want to see Paige in the gym. It shows him starting to respond, but no sound to his words. It cuts over Dusten talking to the camera. Why didn't they give his response? Probably bc it consisted of, "I didn't know she would be there."

  70. Anonymous says:

If you listen to the lyrics Jeremiah wrote for Paige, it gives the ending away. That could easily be the reason why producers won't mention his music career. That wasn't a smart move on Jeremiah's part. He should have waited just a couple of weeks and release his song for the finale. THAT would have done a smash hit. Now everything is spoiled. Bumed out to know how it all ends. All is left is waiting for next season and wishing to other guys won't be to hurt.

  71. Anonymous says:

He released his album couple episodes into the season. The producers were NEVER going to mentions his music career (since there are already two singers on the show). It's just like they don't mention Landon is also in a band as well.

  72. Anonymous says:

It is my understanding that this season will be 10 episodes, and perhaps (someone mentioned above) each of the coming episodes will be 2 hours long. That's a LOT of time when a LOT can happen.

  73. Anonymous says:

Yeah, there are 10 episodes this season. Based on what Paige said on FB, the remaining episodes will be 2 hours long. Hopefully they focus more on the love story than the drama. The finale will air on March 23.

  74. Anonymous says:

Jeremiah's song was written for the show and they control when it is going to be released. CMT approved the release of it, or it wouldn't have happened.Maybe it was released now to dupe the masses on who is the F1. Of course everyone would think it was Jeremiah if you listen to the words of the song. Perhaps that was their strategy all along.

  75. MNJack says:

Amen. Jeremiah went to my high school and his family is well known in our area to be some fine people. The south is glamorized to no end, but here up north we live the same way, its just a little different climate and culture. Good people is good people, no matter where you go. People are gonna have their sins and struggles, and nobody is perfect. If people expect Paige to have nothing but a storybook romance, that would be fine and dandy, but real life isn't like that. There are struggles and joys, highs and lows.

  76. Anonymous says:

Well if that is their strategy it's not working very well since the fans who believe Jeremiah is the one are by far the minority! Just take a look at the SHA Facebook page. Most of them think the show is still being filmed. And that Paige will pick Bubba. And that they can convince her to pick Bubba. I doubt that even a handful have actually listened to Jeremiah's song.

  77. Anonymous says:

Paige is an idiot if she doesnt pick Bubba plain and simple. That is all. Good day.
