OK, before we talk about the results ofThe Voice finale, let’s talk about something more important: Purrfect.
I loved the segment on Purrfect The Cat. Why doesn’t Blake like him? OK, well, “It has pooped in my seat before” might be a decent reason. But how can Adam dislike cats when he has a giant one tattooed on his arm? Jeez. That’s hatred even more irrational than Christina’s feud with Tony Lucca.
There was a lot of crap to fast-forward through (I don’t need to hear Christina Milian talk about what’s blowing up on Twitter at all, ever) so I started late and buzzed through almost everything other than the performances. Unfortunately, I caught up to the live show just in time to have to sit through Justin Bieber. That was atrocious. I’m pretty sure anyone who witnessed my karaoke performance of “Super Bass” on my 26th birthday can tell you I rap better than Justin Bieber.
OK, onto the all important results.
In fourth place we had Chris Mann. This was shocking to me – even though not many votes separated fourth and third places, I absolutely thought Chris deserved to win second place. I was super disappointed by this. I mean, Tony Freakin’ Lucca beat him? Was it just because people were mad at Christina for criticizing Tony’s song choice? Sigh. What a shame.
In third place we had Tony Lucca. Good. He should have been fourth. Then…JERMAINE PAUL was announced as the winner of the voice. Juliet Simms came in second place. I. Am. Disgusted.
REALLY? Really, America? Come on! That’s so wrong! Jermaine has absolutely not been as strong and creative and wonderful as Juliet throughout this competition. Man. I’m really disappointed. Anyway, congratulations to Jermaine. He’s a very good singer – he just wasn’t my jam.
Jermaine Paul with Jamar, Pip and James – “I Want You Back”: This was fun in a cheesy kind of way, wasn’t it? I liked their shiny matching blazers. I kind of wish they’d done something…hipper, though.
Juliet Simms and Flo Rida – “Whistle”: What? Really? In what universe did someone think “Oh, Juliet should hit the stage with that rapper whose name sounds like a state.” How on earth did anyone think this would be a good fit? I missed Cougar Town for this? Comedy set in Florida > Flo Rida.
Chris Mann with Katrina, Lindsey – “Bittersweet Symphony”: This was an odd, but cool song choice, and Chris sounded good. Lindsey, not so much. I’m glad Chris made it to the finals over her. Katrina also sounded great, and I’ll hate Adam Levine forever for taking this opportunity away from her. However, when all three sang together it was horrible. I blame Lindsey, because we all know Chris wasn’t off pitch.
Kim, Cheesa, Sera and Naia – “Superstition”: This was OK. You know, there’s a reason none of these ladies made it that far. But it was fun to see them perform, and they all did well.
Juliet Simms with Jamar, Erin and RaeLynn – “With A Little Help With My Friends”: This was a lovely song for these guys to sing, although I really wish RaeLynn hadn’t been up there. She’s just the worst. Jamar and Erin were great, and I think Juliet seemed to intentionally taking a back seat. Maybe because she’s sick? She still rocked it at the end, but you can tell her voice isn’t as strong as usual.
Tony Lucca and Jordis Unga – “You Can Go Your Own Way”: Oh. Well the fact that Tony likes Jordis, her voice, and wanted to bring her back makes me like him better. Although he was a little smug about how HE was the one who gave HER an opportunity to be on stage one more time. Aw, gee. What a pal. Does he also send out a Tweet every time he throws a homeless person a quarter? (Christina’s venom is rubbing off on me.) Anyway, it was a good performance.
OK, what did you guys think of the episode? Are you happy or disappointed with the results?
